Regardless is someone has diabetes, physical activity is important for someone's overall health and wellness. A diabetic with Type 1 diabetes needs to balance their insulin doses with the food they eat and the activities they do. Sometimes during and after a diabetic does physical activity, the blood sugar level drops too much. To counteract this, it is suggested to have a light snack of carbohydrates before and after physical activity is done. Not only does physical activity keep diabetics in shape, it also assists in lowering blood sugar levels when they are too high, improve cholesterol levels and lower blood pressure.
